Modeling and forecasting solar energy generation in Germany

We developed time series and regression models to predict Germany's solar energy generation on both national and household levels. We discovered that sunshine duration and solar energy generation capacity have dominant effects on forecast accuracy. We demonstrated that our models can also be used to detect anomalies in solar energy production.
