What's in store at our Product Management bootcamp online
In the first week, participants are introduced to the bootcamp and receive a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of Product Management. They become familiar with key tools such as Confluence and Notion, which are essential for organization and documentation in product management. In addition, they develop an understanding of the role of the Product Manager. This week lays the foundation for the subsequent modules by creating a shared baseline and familiarizing participants with the necessary tools and mindsets for product development.
In week 2, participants focus on developing a solid product strategy. They learn how to establish clear and actionable product principles that serve as a guide for the entire product development process. Participants develop a product vision that defines the long-term direction and goals of the product. Through the Design Thinking workshop, they also learn a proven method for finding creative solutions to complex problems and ensuring that the product is aligned with user needs. This week is crucial for laying the strategic foundations of product development and ensuring that the product delivers clear value and can succeed in the market.
In week 3, participants dive deep into the discovery process and user research in order to build the foundation for successful product development. They learn about the essential importance of UX design and user-centered approaches, which aim to develop products that are precisely tailored to the needs and expectations of users. Participants acquire methods for effectively conducting user research to gain valuable insights into user behavior. This week is crucial for developing a comprehensive understanding of user needs, which is considered throughout all phases of product development.
In week 4, participants deepen their skills in user experience and begin designing user interactions. They create user flows and user journeys and learn how to use user story mapping for product development. Stakeholder management in product management is also covered.
In week 5, participants focus intensively on conducting and analyzing usability tests, which are crucial for product development. They learn how to effectively create prototypes and how to use them in structured usability tests to evaluate the product’s usability and user acceptance. The focus is on applying these tests to gather valuable feedback that feeds into the iterative improvement of the product. Participants are also trained to interpret the results of usability tests and translate them into concrete action steps for the further development of the product.
In week 6, participants deepen their skills in planning and organizing product development. They learn how to create effective user stories and precisely define both functional and non-functional requirements. Another focus is on using tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage development work in a structured way. Participants are also trained in effort estimation and prioritization to use development resources efficiently. Finally, they learn how to create roadmaps and use Confluence at an advanced level to clearly communicate their development plans.
In week 7, participants are comprehensively introduced to agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban, which play a central role in modern product development. They learn how these flexible and iterative methods can be applied to make the development process more efficient and responsive. In addition to the fundamentals of Scrum and Kanban, participants also learn how to compare and combine agile methods with traditional approaches in order to benefit from the strengths of both. Furthermore, the importance of psychological safety in teams is explored—an essential factor for the success of agile ways of working and for fostering innovation and collaboration within development teams.
In week 8, participants focus on learning robust methods for measuring the success of their products and enhancing the performance of their development projects through data analysis. They receive a detailed introduction to defining and using KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as well as modern data analytics techniques to accurately measure and optimize product success. Additionally, participants are introduced to the world of artificial intelligence, with a special focus on generative AI tools and their application in product management. This week equips them with the ability to effectively leverage AI-powered technologies to make data-driven decisions and develop innovative product strategies.
In week 9, the focus is on effective collaboration with the development team. Participants learn how to properly coordinate the development process from the start by conducting a successful developer kickoff. They are also trained to understand key concepts such as the Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) to establish clear standards for development work. Another focus is on understanding the various roles and dynamics within a development team, which is essential for ensuring harmonious and productive collaboration. Finally, topics such as testing, quality assurance, and the approval of deliverables are covered to ensure that products meet the highest standards.
In week 10, the focus is on developing participants’ leadership and communication skills. They learn how to facilitate efficient meetings and resolve conflicts within teams effectively, ensuring smooth collaboration in product development. Another key focus is on building presentation skills to communicate ideas and results clearly and convincingly. Additionally, participants engage deeply with agile reporting methods to transparently and purposefully convey progress in agile product development.
In week 11, participants prepare for the final phases of product development, with a focus on successful market launch and continuous product improvement. They learn how to develop an effective release and launch strategy to bring their product to market successfully. Additionally, they explore methods for continuous improvement to ensure that the product continues to be optimized even after launch. This week equips participants with essential skills to secure the long-term success of the product and respond quickly to market changes.
In the final week 12, participants apply all the methods and knowledge acquired during the course to successfully complete their personal project. This week is designed to consolidate the entire learning process and ensure that participants are able to apply the product development principles they have learned in a real-world scenario. Participants finalize their projects, prepare presentations of their results, and reflect on the development process. The focus is on demonstrating their skills and effectively using the tools and techniques provided to present a market-ready product.
