Frederik AldagCEO & Founder
Frederik started programming on the Sinclair ZX81 at the age of 14 and went on to study Business Informatics in Germany, UK and USA. He has managed software development projects and data systems at Deutsche Bahn. He has 20 years of experience and a proven track record at all corporate and entrepreneurial levels at making ideas come to life and growing people to rise to their best professional potential. Beats and sounds make him stay awake at night.

Originally from Munich, Germany Anna grew up bilingual (English/German) in Atlanta, Georgia. While completing her MA in Sociology at the Freie Universität in Berlin, she discovered her passion for working with international study abroad students through working with the Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE), where she gained 4 years experience working with predominantly American exchange students. After completing her MA and working a few months in recruiting for an up and coming IT-Software start-up in Berlin, Anna decided to return to working in education at SPICED Academy. Lindsay McQuadeCareer and Development Coach

Dr. Kristian Rother earned his PhD at the Humboldt Universität, Berlin. He has worked six years as a professional trainer and delivered courses on Python, data analysis and communication throughout Europe. He has translated key data science books for O'Reilly, and is author of two Python books himself, "Managing Your Biological Data with Python" and "Python Best Practices: Debugging, Testing and Maintenance". Kristian is passionate about applying diverse teaching methods in the classroom to ensure a great experience for everybody. He believes everybody can learn Python.

Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, Paul graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and German. While working for 3 years in a consulting firm in DC, he developed a strong interest in data analytics; he pursued this career further by moving to Berlin and enrolling in the Data Science program at SPICED Academy. After graduating, Paul was hired by SPICED as a full-time teacher — where he continues to help students make a career change into the growing field of Data Science.

Tommy GadsbyData Science Teacher
Before joining Spiced, Tom spent 10 years working in asset management in London's West End, before moving into product management for a fintech startup. He then took some time off work to earn a CS MSc from the University of York, then decided to take the SPICED Data Science course. Shortly after graduating he joined the teaching staff. Tom speaks 6 languages, having lived and worked in London, Paris, Berlin, Buenos-Aires & Beijing. In his spare time Tom loves to work on language learning and NLP.

Before joining SPICED, Ivana earned her Bachelors degree in English and German Literature from New York University and spent years working in the New York start-up scene as an operations specialist in the farm-to-table food distribution space. After getting laid off, she decided to join SPICED's Full Stack program in late 2017 as a student, and she joined the teaching staff shortly after graduating. Ivana grew up in the US but is originally from Teslić, Bosnia, and spends her free time reading contemporary Balkan diaspora literature.

Peter moved to Germany in 2006 after completing his degree in Management with Marketing and worked for several years for a successful startup, Spreadshirt. Then, after 10 years of running his own online marketing business, he discovered a love of coding. After graduating from SPICED Academy in late 2018, Peter joined the Full Stack faculty. He was born in Scotland, and has traveled extensively before settling down and starting a family in Berlin.

Andrea AriasTeacher & Developer
Prior to joining SPICED, Andrea studied the sciences, obtaining a Bachelor's in Biology and Chemistry and then a Master's in Biotechnology from Georgetown University. After graduate school, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 4 years in the areas of Quality Assurance and Project Management, specializing in biological products and medical devices. Although drawn to the sciences, she always wanted to learn programming and decided that it's never too late to start. She moved to Berlin in 2018 to learn web development at SPICED; shortly after, she joined the SPICED team as a full-stack instructor. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new restaurants in Berlin and exploring the city with her dog, Layla.
